Soinninkajo, conducted by Christiaan Boele, is an international vocal ensemble based primarily in Finland. Soinninkajo Vocal Ensemble has toured since 2002 in Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Switzerland, the United States and Canada and giving over 200 concerts in various stages from concert halls to kindergarten. Members of the group come from Finland, Germany, the Netherlands, the United States and Canada. Therefore the group as a whole practises and performs periodically. Some of the members are professional musicians and all have studied singing under guidance of master teacher Christiaan Boele. In 2005 was released the first recording of the group, a two CD collection of Finnish and International choral music. Soinninkajo Vocal Ensemble works from the basis of "The School of Uncovering the Voice", which was found by Swedish opera singer Valborg Werbeck-Svärdström (1879-1972). The singer and the process of singing is viewed holistically with the aim of the natural opening and balance of the voice. A wide range of specific singing exercises are developed in order to find and to uncover the genuine and individual human voice. Soinninkajo Vocal Ensemble is one of the few internationally performing groups that work according to this approach. |
